The Quiet Room is a digital SaaS product (web application) for journaling, long-form writing, and AI-assisted reflection, operated by JMClarity ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use The Quiet Room.
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction) to use The Quiet Room. By agreeing to these Terms, you represent that you meet this requirement.
The Quiet Room offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid plans are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Prices are listed on our Pricing page.
Polar checkout and subscriptions. Paid subscriptions are sold and billed through Polar. Polar runs hosted checkout, renewals, receipts, and the customer billing portal. The Polar terms of service and privacy policy apply to the payment relationship.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through the billing portal; your access to paid features will continue until the end of the current billing period.
We may change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Existing subscribers will be notified by email before any price change takes effect.
Every new account receives a 30-day trial with full Pro access. No payment method is required to start the trial. After 30 days, your account reverts to the free tier unless you start a paid subscription.
If your Polar subscription includes a separate provider-managed trial, that trial follows Polar terms and is independent of the 30-day app trial described above.
The Quiet Room includes AI-powered features such as the thinking companion, visual companion, weekly growth digest, and collection insights. These features use third-party AI providers (see our Privacy Policy for details).
Writing Streak Reward. Paid subscribers who write on 18 different calendar days within a single billing period (from one renewal to the next) may earn a 30-day extension on their subscription. “Writing” means creating or updating an entry on a given day. The reward does not apply during a free Pro trial; it begins once you have a paid subscription. Progress resets each billing cycle. This reward is subject to change or discontinuation at our discretion. We reserve the right to modify the qualifying criteria, reward value, or availability with reasonable notice.
Referral Program. Users may earn 14 additional days of Pro access for each valid referral. Referrals are subject to abuse prevention measures. We reserve the right to revoke rewards obtained through fraudulent or abusive activity.
By creating an account, you consent to receive transactional emails necessary for the operation of the service (account verification, password reset, billing notifications).
Writing reminder emails are enabled by default to help you build a consistent writing habit. You can disable these at any time in your Settings page.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice.
You retain ownership of the writing you submit and the content generated from it. We do not claim ownership over your entries or generated output.
The Quiet Room platform, brand, interface, and underlying technology remain our exclusive property. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or proprietary technology.
The Quiet Room is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any specific purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Quiet Room and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of The Quiet Room.
Our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by posting a notice on the service. Your continued use of The Quiet Room after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which The Quiet Room is registered, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
